EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
Eligible for or holding ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP), or active Clinical Fellow (CF) status
Eligible for or holding Colorado state licensure in Speech-Language Pathology

At Summit, the Patient Care Coordinator is the heart of the client experience, supporting individuals and families from their first point of contact through ongoing care. This role blends organization, communication, and compassion. The PCC is responsible for coordinating schedules, navigating barriers, and answering questions with clarity and warmth.
Patient Care Coordinators partner closely with clinicians to ensure care feels seamless, supportive, and centered on each person’s unique needs and goals.

At Summit, a Billing Specialist plays a vital role in supporting access to care by managing insurance claims, payments, and account follow-up with accuracy and integrity. This role requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and clear communication with families and payers.
Billing Specialists work behind the scenes to ensure processes are efficient, transparent, and supportive of a positive patient experience.

At Summit, Graduate School Interns support client care under close supervision while building strong clinical reasoning and hands-on therapy skills.

Yes. Once you submit your request, a member from our team will contact you to set up a phone screener and/or interview to ensure that a placement would be a good fit for both parties.

Yes, if you are offered an internship with Summit, we will need to complete a signed contract between us and your university.

We can offer 8-15 week internships for any semester depending on clinical supervisor availability.

We have clients who range across the lifespan and of many different diagnoses. Each of our clinicians has a different caseload with a variety of clients.
If you have a preference for the type of population you’d like to work with, please let us know during the interview process.
STUDENT OBSERVATION

At Summit, Student Observers gain meaningful exposure to clinical practice by observing therapy sessions and learning alongside experienced clinicians.
This experience offers an exceptional opportunity to understand evidence-based, neurodiversity-affirming care in action while exploring the roles of speech and occupational therapists.
Students are welcomed into a supportive, educational environment that encourages curiosity, reflection, and professional growth.

We can set up observation hours within our working clinic hours, when we have a therapist available for observation.

Please plan to dress professionally, but comfortably.Our dress code policy is designed to support a safe, professional, and child-friendly environment that fosters trust and comfort among our clients and their families.
As a team of professionals dedicated to care of our patients, the attire of our staff should reflect respect, professionalism, and practicality.

We have 30-45 minute sessions that begin on the hour and on the half hour. You will have the opportunity to watch a session/s completed by a certified speech language pathologist or occupational therapist.

Review and sign the HIPAA Confidentiality agreement to ensure the protection of privacy for our patients and their families.
Review and sign the Summit Observation Policy to ensure understanding of our clinic policies.

Yes, please bring any forms needed to sign off on observation hours completed at the clinic.

Currently, we only offer internships/externships for graduate students enrolled in speech language pathology and occupational therapy programs to achieve clinical hours, following the interview process.
